The Corridor175 viewsWelcome to Seafield Children's Hospital.
The place had pretty much everything that can be expected of a small general hospital, designed for kids. Casualty, X-Ray, Operating Theatres, Wards and Therapy Areas: all on a small scale and geared towards the type of injury and ailment kids tend to suffer.
Security here is INSANE, with CCTV covering the CCTV! However, we did manage to find a simple way in. Let's take a tour!

Main Kitchens142 viewsInside the large and fairly well stripped (as usual) hospital kitchen.

IrnBru - Original And Best175 viewsOne item of food remains: IRN BRU... From the early 90's by the looks of it!

Goofy!134 viewsGoofy welcomes us to the main corridor - we may be the first guests he's seen in several years.
We ask him where the wards are - and he points... to the ceiling.
Fuckwit!

The Alice in WonderLand Corridor146 viewsWe detect we are nearing the Wards - as the decoration takes a creepy turn for the worse.

The Creepy Cheshire Cat155 viewsJeez! Adults constantly wonder why kids might find a place like this intimidating? Imagine, being ill, in a strange place and you have to lay in bed staring at THAT every night!?

Ward Systems140 viewsThis Ward annunciator panel tells us we are beside the wards. Let's press on!

The WoodWorking Ward175 viewsInside one of the wards - by the looks of it this was 'let's board the hospital up' central office!

The X-Ray Unit171 viewsThis old X-Ray machine sits, unhappy and unloved.
It has a secret though...

The X-Ray Machine On176 views...Click!
It's still powered on!

X-Ray Ted171 viewsWe all sat still for our X-Rays!

Operating Theartre and Anaesthesiology175 viewsWow - an Operating Theatre on a small scale!
This is standing inside the main Theatre - with anaesthesiology in the smaller off room with the curtain.

Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging System159 viewsScavenging System ??
Well, consider this for a moment - you gas the patient unconscious... In that small room... right beside the Operating Theatre.
Where does the remaining gas GO?? That's right - into the air and into the surgeon who's wielding the knife!!!
This machine (which seems to be a later edition) removes the excess gas and stores it for re-use.

Scrub-Up Area151 viewsOooh, clean!

Operating Theatre - Display Cases158 viewsThese "display cases" recessed into the wall seem somehow grand and noble; and more like an Art Gallery / Museum than a Hospital!

Operating Theatre Display Cases149 viewsThese would have at one time held a myriad of surgical tools and equipment.

Glass Containers149 viewsSome glass containers left in one of the display cases: these were for Stomach Pumps!

Very Grumpy AutoClave154 viewsThe very grumpy autoclave eyes us suspiciously as we pass.

The LightBox173 viewsThe sun is starting to come up - and we need to move fast to assure our window of privacy when leaving the site. Security do a handover in 5 minutes and we need to be ready to haul ass while they are talking over the nightly report... And not watching the grounds or CCTV monitors.
