Clinical Room203 viewsInside the 'Clinical Room' - shown is the mini-pharmacy for on the ward (common) medications. Each compartment was clearly labeled and made for some disturbing reading.
While the patient base of this ward was young children, they required some fairly adult medicine with 'Thorazine' 'Lithium' and 'Temazepam' all being checked off on the controlled drugs locker door.
Kids with psychosis, manic depression and hyperactivity?? Poor kids! :-(
Moments like this force you to remember you are viewing much more than 'some cool old building' - this place has seen many wonderful, sad, happy, indifferent and unusual things. In the future we will hear more and more about how things were in institutions like this and it's always my hope that the pictures we take will add some additional clarity.

Dedication Plaque25 viewsIt's strange - every statement I've found mentions that this place was built around 1971.
Yet here's a plaque celebrating 1985's opening. I can only guess they had a re-fit... Or it took them 15 years to build the place!!10/17/09 at 13:22TurboZutek: Yeah, I think this ADMIN building was built later ...
